A project investigating how light and weather influence colours at a specific location – a sheep pasture. The colours that morning and evening light cast onto the elements of earth, air and water are distilled into three colour fields for each recorded point.
The work is assembled into two colour almanacs, one for morning light and one for evening light. The project was carried out from late April until the sheep were moved to summer pastures at the end of June, with colours of sky, sea and grass recorded daily at 08:00 and 22:00.
The small images (3 × 7 cm) are painted with acrylic on randomly chosen pieces of sheepskin, forming a pattern on the reverse of the work. The skins are hand-stitched together.
